Who is responsible

Data we collect

Depending on how you use Seekodela, we may process: phone number, name, role (buyer, renter, guest, seller, or landlord), language preference, listings and media you publish, visit and payment history, in-app messages, identity documents submitted for verification, approximate location when you grant location permission (for maps, neighborhood search, and listing placement), a push notification token when you enable notifications, usage analytics (feature interactions, timestamps, and a device identifier — not used for third-party advertising), and other technical data (device type, app version, error logs).

How we use data

• Create and secure your account (OTP, authentication).
• Organize coordinated visits and show your visit balance.
• Verify listings and profiles according to the selected tier.
• Process payments and refund requests.
• Send service notifications you opt into (visits, messages, account activity).
• Measure and improve reliability and product features (usage analytics).
• Prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and respond to support.

Legal bases (summary)

We process personal data on these bases, depending on the activity: performance of our contract with you (account, visits, payments, messages); compliance with legal obligations (for example keeping certain transaction records); our legitimate interests in running a safe marketplace (fraud prevention, abuse handling, improving reliability), balanced against your rights; and your consent where the app asks for it explicitly (for example optional settings).

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. It may be shared with in-app payment providers, service providers that help us operate the app (for example hosting, maps, and message or notification delivery), Seekodela agents involved in a visit, a verification, or arranging a fee outside the app, and authorities when the law requires it. For coordinated visits, a lister may see visit-profile information you provide (for example budget or timeline). We do not share your phone number with listers through listing chat.

Retention

While your account is active, we keep data as needed to run the service. If you request account deletion, the app shows a grace period so you can recover from a mistake. After that period we remove your profile from active use and de-identify your account (for example your name and profile details). We may still keep payment and transaction records that contain limited personal data (such as amount, date, and payment reference) for as long as applicable law requires — for example accounting, tax, disputes, or fraud prevention. When those obligations end, we delete or further restrict that data where we can.

Identity photos you submit for visit verification are kept for verification, fraud prevention, and support related to that purpose. When they are no longer needed for that purpose, we delete or restrict them unless applicable law requires otherwise.

International processing

Seekodela is operated from Mali. Your data is processed to provide the app and may be stored on systems we use to run the service. If applicable law requires safeguards for transfers of personal data outside the European Economic Area, we put in place the safeguards that law requires.

Providing your data

You need a phone number and account to use most Seekodela features. Some fields (for example profile details or identity photos) are required only for certain features such as coordinated visits. If you do not provide required data, you may not be able to use those features.

Automated decisions

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Verification badges and reviews involve human processes.

Your rights

You can access part of your data in the app, update your profile, and request account deletion from Profile → Settings → Privacy and account. Contact [email protected] or Help → Contact support for other questions or requests about your personal data. Under Mali Law No. 2013-015, you may ask us to access, correct, or delete data in certain cases, and object to processing on legitimate grounds in the cases that law allows; we aim to respond within 30 days where that law applies. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have rights under applicable data protection law (including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection where applicable). Erasure or other rights may be limited when we must keep data for legal obligations, legal claims, or contract proof. You may lodge a complaint with your EU or UK data protection authority, or with the Malian personal data authority (APDP) in Mali.

Children

Seekodela is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version is available in the app and at seekodela.com. Material changes may be communicated in the app before they take effect.
